Thermal Shock
Dry Ice pellets are around minus seventy degrees celcius. Thermal shock occurs when the pellets hit the contaminate.
Sublimation
Dry Ice goes straight from a solid to a gas a process known as sublimation. The volume increases massively causing the contaminates to be ejected from the substrate.
